How to Measure for Your EZ Snap Cover
What you'll need is a tape measure, pencil, and paper
Get the right fit by following these steps.

How to Measure Straight Baseboard Heaters
Do NOT remove the existing cover or end caps to measure your length and height.
Measure the length from the outside of the left end cap to the outside of the right end cap.
Example: The measured length is 4 feet 6 inches
Now subtract 1/2 inch for wiggle room during installation.
4 feet 6 inches - 1/2 inch = 4 feet 5 1/2 inches
Note: If the backplate has been removed, measure where the old backplate was, or where you would like it to start and end, then subtract 1/2 inch.
Option 1: Straight Heater Configuration
Middle of a Wall
Spaces on both sides
Measure the overall length with ends attached, then subtract ½ inch. Choose 2 Closed or Open end caps.

Corner to Mid Wall
One side has space & other side does not
Measure from the corner to the end of the unit with ends attached, then subtract ½ inch. Choose 1 Closed or Open-end & 1 flush to wall end cap.

How to Measure L-Shaped Baseboard Heaters
For the left side of the L-shaped heater, measure from the outside of the left end cap to the inside corner (wall).
Subtract 3½ inches from this measurement.
Example:
4' 6½" − 3½" = 4' 3"
Repeat the same process for the right leg of the L-shaped heater.
Option 2: L-Shape Configuration
Wall to Wall
No spaces on either side
Measure each leg from corner to corner, subtract 3″ for the inside corner plus ½″ wiggle room (3½″ total per wall-to-wall leg). Choose your end caps.

Inside corner to midwall
Measure each leg from the corner to the end of the unit with end caps, then subtract 3½″ total per side. Choose your end caps.

Outside Corner
Ends mid wall
Measure from the outside corner of the wall to the end of the unit with end caps attached, then subtract ½″ for wiggle room.

Step 2
Measure the Depth
Remove the front cover of your existing heater.
Measure from the wall to the outside edge of the fin on the fin tube.
As long as the measurement is 3 1/8 inches (3.125") or less from the wall, it will fit EZ Snap Covers.
If the measurement is greater than 3 1/8 inches, contact our Customer Service Team for available options.

Step 3
Measure the Height
Measure from the finished floor to the top of the heater backplate and record the measurement in inches.
If no backplate exists, contact our Customer Service Team to determine the proper EZ Brackets for your project.
Choose the Correct Cover
- Under 7 1/2" - Add an EZ Bracket.
- 7 1/2" to 8 1/4" - Use a 7 1/2" cover.
- 8 1/2" to 9 1/4" - Contact our Customer Service Team to determine the proper bracket for your project.
- 9 1/2" to 10 1/4" - Use a 9 1/2" cover.
Important
Measure the height of each individual heater separately, even if the heaters are in the same house or room. These covers may have been installed 35-75 years ago, and conditions may have changed since the original installation due to:
- Heater replacements
- Flood damage
- Fire damage
- Building code updates
- Home renovations
- Other modifications
EZ Bracket Sizes
Our proprietary EZ Brackets are available in the following sizes:
- Widget: Adds 1" - Can be Hung at any height
- Fidget: Adds 3/4"
- Smidget: Adds 3/8"
- Wall Contraption: when backplate is removed

Step 4
Note Corners and Ends
Each heating unit requires one left end cap and one right end cap.
For an L-shaped heating unit, you will also need either an inside corner or an outside corner, depending on your installation.
Couplers are required for covers longer than 7 feet (84 inches).
- 7 feet 1/2 inch of cover requires 1 coupler.
- 14 feet of cover requires 1 coupler.
- 21 feet of cover requires 2 couplers.
- Continue adding 1 coupler for every additional 7 feet of cover.

Measure in inches. Our 7½" and 9½" sizes refer to the end cap height.

- 6½" + 1" Widget = 7½"
- 6¾" + 3/4" Fidget = 7½"

For 9½" Covers
- 8½" + 1" Widget = 9½"
- 8¾" + 3/4" Fidget = 9½"
- 9¼" + 3/8" Smidget = 9⅝"
